Heyduke is wonderful!

Our Heyduke is wonderful. Every day he does something to make us laugh, shows us love, and keeps us entertained. He weighs between 43-44 lbs - Dr Sammons said between 40 and 45 was a good weight on him so hopefully during the winter he won't put on much weight. Heyduke and I (Joan) try to walk 2 to 3 miles a day (of course during the bad weather we miss our walks and we get so bored which means extra play time in the house together). On the pretty days, I open the door for him and he goes in and out all day (he usually goes out and then comes in to check and make sure one his parents is in the house and then goes back out). We have alot of squirrels and he'll spend all day watching them play and chasing them out of the yard. He enjoys riding in the car, especially if he thinks we are going to the park. We took him to the pet store the other day and one of the trainers started petting him and giving him commands and our Heyduke responded to every one and made us so proud! He
eats well - he licks his bowl clean at each meal and then comes to get us so we can praise him for doing such a wonderful job! All in all, he was indeed the perfect dog for us and we love him dearly.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Raylan's Doing Fantastic!

Raylan's doing fantastic! We've only had him fortwo and a half months, but he has certainly settled right in at home. He lovesplaying around in the backyard and wrestling/snuggling with Sveva. They bothhave so much energy, which made it very difficult for us to take a family photo. We tried countless times and finally got a semi-decent one where all the dogsare looking at the camera. I've attached the family photo and anadditional photo of Raylan and Sveva in the backyard.

I'm so glad we were able to adopt Raylan, and everyday I love his face more and more!

All the best,
Brittany

Raylan Update!

I just wanted to send you a quick update on Raylan. He is doing fantastic! Sveva was already pretty entertaining on her own, but having Raylan around has added so many more laughs to our day, not to mention all the additional snuggling that is happening. Raylan and Sveva are getting along better than we could've imagined! They've only been around each other a few weeks, but they have bonded so much. They certainly make a funny pair :) We've been taking both the dogs on nightly walks, which they love, and on the weekends, we normally have to walk them twice a day. They have so much energy and are always ready to go! But they are also both really lazy and like to lounge around in the house.

On Sunday, we went out to my parent's house for brunch. It was the first time my family had seen Raylan since we officially adopted him. My family already loves Raylan so much, and my mom is super excited to have another grandpuppy. Raylan has just rolled with the flow and gotten into the swing of things pretty well. His tail never stops wagging, so I'm assuming he's pretty excited about his new life with Dan, Sveva, and me.

Just so you can see the type of goofiness we are living with 24/7, I've attached a photo that Dan took of the dogs being silly. If I'm having a stressful day at work, I just pull this picture up on my screen, and it instantly makes me laugh.

Thanks for all your help Pam!

All the best,

Brittany & Danny

Raiden's First Day!

An email from Raiden's family after the first day :)

Hi Nancy,

I wanted to e-mail you about raidens 1st day with us. We have

had a wonderful day together. Raiden has really made our family

complete again. He has been on a morning and afternoon walk,

been in the backyard for some running time & exercise and we

went for a trip to petsmart this afternoon where everyone just

loved Him. He is such a good dog and has been absolutely

content today.

He has really developed a special bond with Linda. He followed her

everywhere this morning. She was ironing and he was lying right

at her feet. He has shown no signs of separation anxiety. He has

really enjoyed the time with us today and he has give us so much

joy just being himself. He has eaten a short time ago at 7:00 PM

and he really ate good. He has been a perfect little gentleman all

day long.

I know this has been a tough day for you but He is doing fine and

settling in here very well. We are letting him be himself and thats

what makes it so much fun. He is precious. He really handles riding

well and seems to be right at home in the truck or car.

Thank you so much for all you have done and you can rest easy

in knowing that we love him dearly and in only 1 day he has

captured our hearts forever.

Thanks again for this wonderful pet and friend.

Take care!

Kalvin Update!

Kalvin is doing absolutely wonderful!! He and Jack get along so incredibly well! They play alot! They love the rope! When Alan comes home in the evening, I let them out on the porch and they go running up to meet him! He does love Alan! He won't give me kisses, but he will Alan! He is still fascinated with Baby, our older cat, but Baby is not afraid of him, just Kalvin I think doesn't understand why Baby won't play with him! Cookie and Chip, the outside kitties love him! They will let him lick them, and he will play with them! It is so funny!

Well, tell Mike we say hi, and so does Kalvin!!!

Fred

Just wanted to thank you again for placing Fred in our family. We had a great weekend. Saturday he woke up and rolled over to get his belly scratched. He went with the boys in the morning. They say he rode in car really well. He watched the soccer game from the truck, in a blanket with Jeff. The rest of the Sat activities we rained out. We stayed home and played.Sat night, we were all sitting on the floor playing a card game. Fred walked around wanting to see everyone's cards. Sunday I took the kids to church. Jeff volunteered to stay home with Fred. He said he howled and looked out all the windows for about 10 minutes after we left. He's been following our every move since we got back home.

He wags for every family member now. He enjoys the little ones the most. He even went for a walk with them yesterday afternoon. He sleeps all night. However, when I get up he's ready to go (after a few stretches).

We are having a great time getting to know each other.

Autumn is home!

Thank you all so much! You have helped make this whole process so incredibly smooth and wonderful. I've had a great day with Autumn - she is such a good dog. I seriously think she's the most awesome dog ever!!! We played in the backyard, I took her for a walk in the neighborhood, we took a car ride to the pet store to get a longer leash and a retractable and then played in the back yard some more, then we took another car ride and went to the park for a really long walk. She did great in the car and on the walk when other people would pass with dogs or kids or when I would say "leave it" to something she was focused on. She minds so well! When I fed her dinner - she sat before I gave her the bowl. And when it was my turn to eat - she just curled up under the table and laid down at my feet. She's laying at my feet as I type this. She's gotten lots of belly rubs and love today! She is so loveable! Thank you all so much for everything.
Blessings,
Autumn
